People in Centre team is involved intensively in providing technical advisory support to UNDP Nepal and National Reconstruction Authority, Government of Nepal. This support includes policy development for rural housing reconstruction through Owner Driven Reconstruction approach, instituting various facilitation mechanism for handholding the home owners in construction process. We supported UNDP to demonstrate appropriate technology options (stone masonry in mud mortar with GI wire containment reinforcement), mobile video vans for community awareness and upcycling of debris for reconstruction. With our support, a toll free number has been installed at NRA in an effort to connect government authorities and people. We are also involved in developing a training delivery framework and plan for NRA to ensure availability of skilled artisans and other human resources necessary for facilitation of Owner Driven Reconstruction.
