Mozambique was badly hit by Cyclones Idai and Kenneth in 2019, damaging 240,000 houses. Approx. 1.5 million people were badly affected. UNDP implemented a 5-year long recovery program with a budget of US$57 million to support livelihood and housing recovery in collaboration with the Government of Mozambique. PiC undertook project end final evaluation of MRF project to ensure accountability and promote learning for future programming. This evaluation covered all three MRF pillars: (1) Livelihoods & Women’s Empowerment, (2) Resilient Housing and Infrastructure, and (3) Institutional Strengthening through GREPOC – a cabinet ministry level mechanism set up by Government of Mozambique to coordinate and support the recovery processes.
