People in Centre is providing UNDP technical support for providing transitional shelter support to the earthquake affected families in Chahak village of Herat province in Afghanistan. More than two hundred transitional shelters were built by the affected families themselves with financial assistance from UNDP and technical guidelines by PiC. The transitional shelters were built using the salvaged adobe blocks and additional materials like bamboo, wooden poles, planks and CGI sheets. All the families were safely sheltered before severe winter season.
