Assessing Damage after Disasters – A Participatory Framework and Toolkit

Damage assessment is a critical issue after the disasters as it lays foundation for subsequent reconstruction processes. It is critical that affected community can participate in damage assessment. Therefore, the methodology for damage assessment has to be credible, transparent, inclusive, flexible and participatory. It is with this perspective, myself and Dinesh Prajapati with UNNATI support developed a toolkit for the same. This damage assessment toolkit has been published by UNNATI, Ahmedabad. It is available here for download and use. Feedback and comments are welcome.

It is also available at Library of Congress (LCCN: 2008330618 and LC: HV551.5.A-ZI+)
